Captrain Deutschland GmbH, a member of the SNCF Logistics Group, is one of the leading providers of rail-based transport solutions in Germany and Europe.

Our subsidiary, the Captrain Deutschland CargoWest GmbH (CCW) is looking for candidates for the following position:

Qualification as international freight train driver (m/f)

Reference number: 298_144

Beginning: September 2018 I Duration of the qualification: 18 - 24 months
Employment: in full time I Place: Saarbrücken / Völklingen and Offenburg

As part of a 12 to 15 months training course in Germany, you are initially granted the right to operate freight trains on the German route network. Afterwards, you will also be trained in France for the French rail network in about 6 to 9 months, with the aim of serving cross-border freight traffic after successfully completed training.

The qualification combines theory and practice and essentially comprises the following training contents:

  • Railway specific foundations
  • Operational safety in railway operation
  • Operation of locomotives
  • Forming, rank and driving trains
  • Functional testing of wagons and locomotives
  • Creating and guiding train documents

For the duration of the training you will receive a training contract, with subsequent takeover in our forward-looking and growing company, with a secure job and attractive remuneration according to the collective agreement.

Requirements

  • Minimum bachelor degree / middle school graduation or a successfully completed training in a technical profession
  • Very good French and German language skills, both spoken and written, minimum B2 level
  • Minimum 20 years of age
  • Strong sense of responsibility, absolute reliability and punctuality
  • Healthy and psychologically suitable
  • Resilience, mobility and flexibility
  • You should be prepared to work in shifts as well as on Sundays and on public holidays
