DHL Group

When you think of DHL Group, the first things that probably spring to mind are our distinctive corporate colours, yellow and red. But our identity as a company – and as an employer – runs much deeper than that.

It is our culture, our values and the way we nurture the individual talents of each and every one of our people that set us apart from other employers. Just as important is the appreciation that all our employees experience in the form of recognition and remuneration for their very own personal contributions.

Tasks

Head of Operations/Compliance eShipping

  • Build the eShipping logistics & compliance framework
  • Establish a structured approach for assessing regulatory, customs, fiscal and operational requirements for small-quantity BWS shipments.
  • Define the compliance blueprint for strategic markets and origin-destination combinations.
  • Identify regulatory constraints, gaps and dependencies before new solutions are launched.
  • Build reusable standards, documentation and governance to move away from country-by-country solutions.

Design and deploy compliant trade-lane solutions

  • Identify priority trade lanes together with eShipping commercial and operational teams.
  • Translate regulatory requirements into workable end-to-end operating models.
  • Define the appropriate combination of customs, fiscal representation, transportation, warehousing and last-mile solutions.
  • Coordinate implementation with Hillebrand Gori, DHL Express and external compliance/logistics partners.
  • Create turnkey solutions that can subsequently be deployed by eShipping teams, DHL/HG entities and selected external partners.

Enable scalable B2C/DTC and omnichannel solutions

  • Bring practical expertise from wine e-commerce and international DTC operations into the eShipping model.
  • Develop compliant logistics models for selected B2C/DTC use cases without requiring eShipping to own the marketplace or end-consumer relationship.
  • Support priority use cases such as samples, events, fine & rare wines and selected tourism/partner-enabled B2C flows.
  • Help partners and customers embed eShipping logistics and compliance capabilities into their own commercial ecosystems.

Connect compliance with commercial growth

  • Partner with sales teams to turn newly enabled lanes into compelling customer propositions.
  • Support strategic customer and partner opportunities requiring complex regulatory or operational solutions.
  • Help commercial teams understand what can be sold, under which conditions, and through which operating model.
  • Identify opportunities where solving a regulatory barrier can unlock additional eShipping and DHL/HG volumes.
  • Build eShipping's internal capability and network
  • Act as eShipping's central subject-matter lead for international BWS logistics and compliance solutions.

Build relationships with HG/DHL customs, regulatory, transportation and compliance experts.

  • Develop and manage specialist external partners where capabilities cannot efficiently be built internally.
  • Create playbooks and share knowledge with regional and country eShipping teams.
  • Establish clear ownership and governance for the compliance capability.

Influence product and process development

  • Translate regulatory and operational requirements into clear business requirements for eShipping.
  • Work with Product/IT to determine what should be managed through technology, operational processes or external partners.
  • Ensure new solutions can be standardized and reused rather than generating unnecessary country-specific complexity.
