Tasks & accountabilities

  • As an Engineering Equipments Industrialization Leader, you will bridge Design and Industrial aspects of equipment development for better and more reliable products from our suppliers.
  • You will bring technology and manufacturing expertise, as well as suppliers and products knowledge, to ensure the manufacturability and quality of equipment & systems from industrial integration and operational point of views.
  • You will be responsible for the Equipments Industrialization of products lines and technologies within the Engineering Systems Community.
  • Internally, you will closely work with Systems Designers, Experts, Supply Chain, Quality and Industrial.
  • Externally, you will be interfaced with Suppliers’ Engineering and Manufacturing.
  • You will work from the preparation of supplier selection to in-service support, with a strong momentum on prevention by bringing the right experience and knowledge during developments and industrial changes.
  • You will be a team member of the newly created “Equipments Industrialization” group, part of a transnational department within Engineering Systems.

You main tasks and accountabilities will include:

  • Being responsible of assessment of manufacturability of the design during developments & changes: technical risks & opportunities analysis, participation to combined Design & Industrial reviews, challenge of design options and influence of suppliers’ design and manufacturing engineering
  • Being responsible of manufacturing aspects before and during supplier selection: requirements for Call For Tender, supplier’s proposals reviews, risks & opportunities plan
  • Supporting products’ industrialization surveillance with regards to manufacturing engineering: participation to assessments and industrial reviews, and eradication of quality flaws
  • Supporting resolution of issues and contributing to recovery & industrial performance improvement initiatives
  • Being responsible of developing knowledge inside manufacturing Engineering teams through cross-fertilization between products and programs.
  • This role will involve travels to supplier’s facilities and Airbus sites; as such you must be able to travel accordingly (approx. twice a month).
  • This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth.

Required skills

  • Degree in Engineering or similar
  • Experience in production technologies and manufacturing processes
  • Experience in industrialization
  • Knowledge of systems design, including interfaces and integration principles
  • Products knowledge
  • Experience in audits/assessments
  • Leadership skills, ability to interface with external suppliers and represent Airbus
  • Negotiation level of English.
