Mission

He/She Industrial Cost Controller supports the value creation by ensuring reliable and efficient steering of product costs. Lead initiatives to optimize costs and give transparency.

Partner with Supply Chain Procurement Accounting. Accountable for local product costs and procurement and subcontracting cost control.

Key tasks & responsibilities :

  • Provide accurate product costings for all the materials in the ERP in each Discovery Legal entity.
  • Implement the Transfer Prices on materials in each Discovery legal entity in consideration on the transfer prices Accounting guiding rules.
  • Ensure the Subcontracting (tolling) cost controlling as well as Procurement direct cost controlling.
  • Ensure a close follow-up on products cost on issues solving and corrections if needed especially a reliable monthly closing.
  • Provide to Discovery Head of FP&A Supply Chain the appropriate information and KPI’s on product costs in a timely manner to steer the business, by ensuring the availability of costs information.
  • Master world-wide by analyzing monthly results for the Discovery Legal entities local product costs compared to budget, forecast and previous year.
  • Contribute to the Discovery Budget and Forecast process for local product costs and transfer prices for traded or subcontracted goods, by supporting defining rules.
  • Ensure the reliability of the procurements savings to ease validation.
  • Provide the relevant KPI’ and information on direct procurements and subcontracted costs to monitor Payables.

Qualifications & competencies

  • Master's degree in Finance or Engineer degree
  • At least 5 years' experience in industrial costing / controlling ; good knowledge of controlling principles and accounting impacts.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proactive, ability to work within a complex multicultural environment, good ability to work in a team with sense of priority, and capacity to synthesize information.
  • Has worked in international roles before.
  • Good knowledge in Controlling systems, ERP’s : MSD 365, Power-BI, Datalake/ Datawarehouse.
