Your roles and responsibilities

  • Identifies, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, and re-design infrastructure for greater scalability;
  • Creates and maintains optimal pipeline architecture;
  • Skilled in data pipeline, event driven systems and workflow management tools (e.g., Airflow, DataBricks, Kafka, Kinesis, etc.);
  • Supports the development of continuous integration/deployment processes and infrastructure;
  • Experience with distributed databases and NoSQL databases like, MongoDB, and GraphDB's, and Object stores like Blob or s3;
  • Comfortable using SQL and Spark;
  • Architects, builds, and manages a robust, scalable, data pipeline in a hybrid cloud environment that provides data processing capabilities to meet functional / non-functional business requirements;
  • Builds services and tools to make data more accessible to all data consumers (tools such as searchable metadata, API gateway);
  • Works with the platform development team to design & use tools for data logging and repeatable data tasks to accelerate and automate data science tasks;
  • Skilled using infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or Cloud Formation);
  • Proficiency in container orchestration with Fargate or Kubernetes;
  • Responsible for teaching, educating and norming other engineers and data scientists to enterprise cloud practices;
  • Supports software architecture decisions by writing, maintaining, and reviewing software code and ensures the code quality by automated testing;
  • Deliver standardized solutions that are tested, robust, validated, automated, and integrated;
  • Influence, collaborate, and promote usage of evolving data science and architectural solutions;

Who you are

  • Extensive experience in computer science, information systems, data science, software engineering or system operations;
  • Profound experience in AWS cloud architecture, data science, business intelligence or equivalent areas;
  • Builds an infrastructure required for optimal access integration and deployment from a wide variety of applications, services, models and data;
  • Builds API integration services using REST, GraphQL, RPC & SOAP;
  • Experience with Python and other data science languages (R or Juia);
  • Strong capability to manage implementation and maintenance of cloud architecture concepts and related platforms and pipelines;
  • Competent in system operations and microservice design techniques;
  • Proficient use of version control systems (e.g., GitHub, etc.);
  • Container (e.g. Docker) creation, management, debugging and deployment;
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills;
  • Ability to solve problems in a team environment;
  • Ability to reach out when needed for guidance on projects;
  • Ability to relay technical knowledge to non-technical stakeholders;
  • Ability to set expectations in a meaningful and concise manner;
  • Communicate effectively across a diverse range of technical and non-technical backgrounds;
  • Expertise in cloud network security and cybersecurity fundamentals, security groups, DNS, routing tables, peering, VPCs and API gateways
