Missions

  • Gain/maintain the in-depth knowledge of the existing registration dossier to defend a portfolio of registered compounds.
  • Contribute to advising business on effective toxicology strategies to defend existing products and register the new compounds.
  • Negotiate with sponsors the specific needs in terms of toxicology studies, proposing the best solutions (deadlines, scientific quality, costs) and ensuring the follow-up of the expenses associated with the work performed.
  • Assure the scientific, budgetary and temporal follow-up of all toxicology studies under your responsibility in order to achieve the negotiated objectives, costs and deadlines.
  • Present to and discuss with regulatory officials in support of Bayer CropScience registrations.
  • Maintain a sound awareness of regulatory testing guidelines for all types of toxicity studies in order to have a thorough knowledge of international testing requirements.
  • Follow new developments, policies and global trends.
  • Collaborate with external consultants, academia, regulators and CROs. May include, supervision of assistants and external collaborators to allow the incorporation of leading edge toxicology into testing strategies and dossier development.

Profile

  • High level of education in Toxicology or a closely related science (PhD / Doctorate preferred) with more than 10 years’ experience preferably in pesticides regulatory toxicology.
  • A sound knowledge of the national, European and international regulatory guidelines is desirable as well as knowledge of GLP principles and knowledge of European and worldwide registration.
  • Experience in other regulatory arenas (eg REACH) would be a plus.
  • Strong communication skills are necessary in order to work in project teams across multiple functions, sites and regions. Strong presentation and negotiating skills as well as a high level of strategic thinking are essential in order to develop and implement toxicology strategies with internal (functions, customers) and external (regulatory authorities) contacts. Leadership skills to effectively achieve global alignment (all regions and all associated product/project stakeholders) are essential.
  • Fluent English is mandatory.
