Tasks & accountabilities

  • Currently proposals at the product line Solar Arrays (power supply for spacecraft) are primarily based on bottom-up cost estimates.
  • In the future this approach will be supported by a parametric cost model derived from past proposals. In the course of the internship this model shall be conceptualized after the data basis has been assessed if needed supplemented - and made compatible.

Your exciting tasks:

Apply statistical theory to a specific business problem:

  • Evaluate past and current bids collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data
  • Identify suitable parameters for the cost model in close collaboration with colleagues from project management, engineering and opeartions
  • Establish a baseline of the cost model and trial it.
  • This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth.

Required skills

  • Enrolled student within Business Economics, Mathematical Economics, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Engineering or a similar field of study in combination with a good technical grasp
  • Thorough knowledge of MS Excel, ideally Excel Analysis ToolPak, R, STATA or similar
  • Experience with (simple) regression models and ideally fitting courses (e. g. "Applied Statistics")
  • Languages: English (fluent) and German (desirable)
  • You are a good team player, have excellent communication skills, and are able to work independently.
