Domain Architect for Engineering (d/f/m), Manching

Responsibilities

• Designs engineering domain-specific target architectures and underlying design principles to steer specific solution architectures in Programs/Projects
• Co-creates required architecture artifacts with Enterprise Architects, e.g., architecture blueprints and technical debt backlog
• Manages domain IT specific technology lifecycle in alignment with enterprise architects and translates it into a domain transformation roadmap
• Acts as Lead Architect in Programs/Projects when related to large & complex solution crossing domains
• Accounts for cross-architecture layer / end-to-end IT architecture consistency within the domain, modelling this architecture following open standards TOGAF and Archimate as well as Airbus internal processes and guidelines
• Drives architecture effectiveness from a functional end-to-end perspective with cross-layer responsibility to ensure close integration of layers
• Supports solution architects or IT specialists by identifying and evaluating solution options
• Acts as an internal consultant and independent moderator in domain specific design discussions supporting and guiding other stakeholders
• Assesses deviation from standards, recommends standard alternatives and documents technical debt
• Functional and technical architecture support as part of respective SAFe large solutions and release trains

Key Accountabilities

• Consistent end-to-end / cross-architecture layer domain architecture supporting Program/Projects
• Supporting activities related to engineering domain transformation roadmap
• Engineering Domain-specific architectural consistency and governance
• End to End Accountable for Architecture Needs at the Project Level
• Design and sign Architecture Dossier (ARD) for domain solutions at Project Level

Requirements

• Experience and outstanding knowledge of underlaying infrastructure, network and security components
• Experience & knowledge in TOGAF architecture framework and Archimate modelling language
• Knowledge of Prolaborate and Sparx Enterprise Architect Tool
• Strong background and extensive hands-on experience in software or enterprise architecture
• ideally combined with experience in systems engineering and knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) environments
