DBA - Database administrator (m/f/n), Luxembourg

Creos Luxembourg S.A. is the operator of electricity and natural gas networks in Luxembourg. Nearly 900 employees currently serve the company.

Creos is responsible for the planning, construction, maintenance, and operation of high, medium, and low voltage electricity networks, as well as high, medium, and low pressure natural gas pipelines that it owns or has been entrusted to manage. The networks managed by Creos include more than 12,000 km of electricity lines and approximately 2,200 km of natural gas pipelines, serving over 317,000 electricity customers and around 50,000 natural gas customers.

Tasks

• You install, deploy, update and manage MSSQL, Oracle and PostgreSQL databases engines and related software solutions
• You manage Backup and Restore of databases
• You are responsible for monitoring databases, ensuring and optimizing performance, and resolving incidents.
• You are responsible for ensuring that databases comply with security & compliance requirements (e.g: CIS Workbench, NIS2, ISO 27001)
• You are responsible for, write and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures associated with the Databases solutions deployed
• You support and work closely with all other Creos IT departments
• You standardise and implement automations to allow delegation of activities to better serve users
• You support internal business teams in their evolving needs, and make proposals towards improving the user experience of the solutions you manage
• You participate in the design and the improvement of the technology infrastructure in collaboration with Creos IT teams regarding their strategies, needs and requirements
• You are actively involved in IT on-call duty, and BCP and DRP organization
• You work closely on keeping architecture and SLA knowledge up to date
• You set up an efficient incident management and problem solving on the technology

Profile

• University Degree, or equivalent, in Information Technology, Computer Sciences or other related field
• Proven experience of minimum 5 years in a similar function
• In-depth knowledge of MSSQL, Oracle and PostgreSQL are essential
• You have working knowledge of technologies and architectures:
• Backup/Restore procedures (RMAN, Barman, MSSQL Backup Database)
• SQL languages (T-SQL, PL/SQL/pgSQL)
• High Availability management (Always on, Dataguard, PostgreSQL Replication)
• Collaboration tools
• Skills pertaining to Linux, Shell Script, PowerShell, CommVault, ITIL, and Centreon will be considered a strong advantage
• You are results oriented, user oriented, and resistant to stress
• Active certifications pertaining to the technologies listed above, including ITL foundation certification, are an advantage
• You are proactive, curious, flexible and you collaborate with others to solve incidents
• You have highly effective verbal and written communication skills in French and English. The knowledge of German and/or Luxembourgish is considered an asset.
