Tasks

  • Taking a day-to-day lead in managing the legal aspects of the transaction
  • Co-ordinating the input of outside counsel with the internal members of the project team e.g. M&A department, tax, finance HR, compliance, export control, insurance, real estate and relevant business stakeholders,
  • Drafting preliminary agreements and draft or supervise the drafting of transaction documents by outside counsel,
  • Co-ordinating with and support where necessary other members of the legal department, especially with the antitrust team
  • Monitoring compliance with relevant laws and regulations
  • Being prepared to assist and support in the provision of legal advice generally
  • Handling special assignments, and Being an active member of the M&A Legal Practice Area.
  • This role will involve frequent travel (at least 2/3 per months) for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.

Required skills

  • Educated to a Master's degree level (or equivalent) in Common / Anglo-Saxon Law and Corporate Law,
  • At least 5 years' international M&A experience as a practicing lawyer in international firms,
  • Ability to interface and communicate well with the transaction team, including internal operational and management staff as well as outside counsel, bankers and consultants,
  • Prior experience must evidence a hands-on, practical, business-oriented approach,
  • Demonstrating appropriate level of initiative, credibility and self-confidence including in new jurisdictions and uncertain environments, whilst nevertheless maintaining an effective reporting channel within the department,
  • Providing top-level guidance to senior Airbus executives in an understandable way, often in a fast-moving and ambiguous environment,
  • Ability to quickly earn the respect of senior management in order to be credible and effective in this complex and constantly-developing business,
  • Reactivity, creativity, result and team oriented and able to work in an international, multi-cultural, fast-moving and complex/technical environment,
  • A negotiation level in English is mandatory,
  • Any other Airbus languages such as French, German or Spanish would be an asset.
