Description of the job

A vacancy for an Industrial technologist for Metallic products (machining, forming, welding) has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space in Les Mureaux. The successful applicant will join the Production techniques team, part of the Industrialisation department.

This position will give you the opportunity to participate in highly innovative projects such as the Arianne 6 launcher and the M51.

This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognised authorities.

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Developing/maintaining Technological Processes with the 5M+1 logic (material, methods, means, manpower, "milieu", performance) and standardising them if possible
  • Demonstrating that relevant industrial processes are defined and set-up to meet performances with respect to OTOCOQ (Costing analysis) for development programmes
  • Performing costing activities in support of the costing team
  • Contributing to industrial convergences and synergy with partners
  • Supporting the activities linked to Design For MAIT to ensure the manufacturability of the product by providing inputs linked to processes (capabilities, etc.) and challenging the product definition
  • Proposing and leading means & tools investments (Developing CAPEX budgets, specifying investments and monitoring the set-up and qualification of investments)
  • Participating in/leading the task force in case of failure with the 5M+1 approach
  • Contributing to R&T activities
  • Performing audits (internal/external)
  • Representing ASL; collecting and capturing data in external forums dedicated to metallic products (external benchmarking)
  • Disseminating your knowledge throughout the company and actively participating in an internal "knowledge network" (i.e. REX).

Required skills

  • We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
  • Engineering degree specialising in mechanical or material engineering
  • Applications of experienced technicians with extensive experience in the space or aeronautical industries, working on metallic processes, project costing, etc.
  • Experience or knowledge in production and metallic materials
  • Experience in Forming of metallic products and its different processes
  • Titanium machining knowledge and experience would be a plus
  • Experience in welding would be a plus
  • Knowledge of the production means and production environment
  • IT: Knowledge of Catia (DMU) and DELMIA. Knowledge of SAP (MM, PP, QM) and MES tools would be a plus
  • Communication skills, service-mindedness and an interest in technical subjects
  • French: negotiation level
  • English: advanced level
  • German: would be a plus.
