Are you ready to conquer the chartering and shipping business? Our client is an international medium-sized freight shipping company based in Bremen, Germany. As one of the leading experts in its field of expertise, the family-owned company has been providing individual, high-quality and tailor-made transport solutions to its clients for over 25 years. These services include ocean transport, as well as carriage of commodities, supply goods, and consumables to African hinterland.

To complete its team, our client is currently looking for a proactive and experienced

Ocean Line Manager (m/f), Bremen, fr-en/de

responsible for the northbound trade of the company.

Your Duties and Responsibilities

With the support of a dedicated assistant, the candidate is expected to

• manage freight transportation orders, including cargo booking, chartering of ships and line calculations
• prepare regular reporting (per ship) for the management board
• travel within Europe and to West Africa on a regular basis
• maintain and strengthen strategic relationships with key decision makers within the company, agencies and clients
• create new business potential by analysing the clients' structure and development
• monitor the market intensively
• control and manage the freight policy
• prepare, edit and coordinate offers and price negotiations
• cooperate closely with the management board and the operations department

Your Core Competencies

• Professional education or apprenticeship as freight forwarder, logistics manager or a similar background
• Good technical knowledge of and previous working experience in the field of shipping, ideally in transportation of tropical timber products
• Fluent in both French and English (written and spoken), good command of German is a plus
• Good customer skills, client-oriented, and excellent ability to work independently and also as part of a team
• Great ability to work under pressure
• Flexible and open-minded to other cultures of the world
• Good command of standard software
